Copy Kat

This morning I was all set to post an entry here, but decided to read some of my favorite blogs first.  As I read KatJam's entry, I shook my fist at the screen, because Kat's post was exactly what I was going to do today~ a "shout out" entry.  I decided to scrap my not-so-original idea, and continued reading blogs.  Soon, it was time for me to leave for the day, and I had no time left to post anything at all.  Not that I had anything at all to post, but still.  I felt bad.  Sorta.

Which brings us to this afternoon.  I still had nothing to offer you,  so I continued reading blogs.  And that's where the story really begins.  Or veers off.  I'm not really sure, but at least pretend like you're following, mkay?

As many of the regulars around here know, there have been recent changes over at Blogger/Blog*Spot, (notice I did not say "upgrades").  Although the newly-formatted blogs are pretty, (ooohhhh, aaaahhh), they suck the big one comment-wise.  Here is a [copy and paste] of the Blogger Comment Sign In form:

Get one now?  As in, a CLUE??   First, you notice that it commands you to "sign in" or "post anonymously".  The next line, however, informs us that "This blog does now allow anonymous comments".  Bipolar much?

Following the lead of my buddy, TVJunkie, in an attempt to... attempt something, I decided to create my own Blogger account, (okay, I actually created FOUR Blogger accounts, but that's a whole other can of worms.) I mean, "It only takes 3 minutes"! Quick and simple, right?!

Except not.

Now when I try to log in, (merely to post a comment), Blogger ignores me.  They act as if I don't even exist.  But, I DO!  I DO exist!  I have a token Blog*Spot blog to prove it!  I know I don't have much room to talk; my old AOL journal certainly had it's share of quirks, which is why I moved here recently.   But come on now!  Blogger is messing with my very way of life!

[exhale]

So, after the hell known as Blogger that I endured today, I simply had nothing original to post, so in true lemming fashion, I will post my own "shout out" entry, because in addition to glad tidings of great joy, I also have a few comments to dispense.

In very exciting news, Alphawoman and her sweetie eloped last week!  Be sure to read her entry~ it brought tears to my eyes.  I wish them a lifetime of laughter and love.

Another big event will happen this Sunday, when Freeepeace turns 21, (again).  This past year has been good to Freeep, and deservedly so.  My wish for her is plenty of time to read all of her journal comments;)

To Green Tuna~  If your site suddenly becomes The Green Cicada, I'm running the other way. While screaming. With arms flailing.

To The Mensch~  I enjoyed your tribute to Tony Randall.  Very touching.

To Ophelia~ I think your Mother was probably right, but man, that Whole Foods Woman was a royal bitch.  You should have told her that you saw some sunglasses just like hers at Target.  Hehehe.

To Babyfishfel~ Please keep us updated, even if you have to do it standing up;)

To HamsterRanger~  Cat Haiku?  That was priceless. Thanks for the laugh!

Well folks, my work here is done.  And, it only took me an entire day to do it.

Calgon Time

The kids?  Are gone.
And it's raining.  Does it get any better than this??
Only slightly.  [Gives reader a knowing wink and pops open a beer]

Chances of Rain

I decided I'd better do some blogging this afternoon.  It's been rather quiet around here, so I haven't had  much to report.  DF took the kids Saturday night, and after selecting the outfit that I wanted to wear out on the town, I sat down at the computer, and didn't get up until after midnight.  So much for going out!  He's getting them again tonight, ( no, really!), so I'll have the opportunity to watch AI without any interruptions.
I don't feel like doing much of anything this afternoon, (other than packing the kid's bag~ that is a very pleasant task), because I got so much done before noon today.

I gave the children baths before school today, stopped for breakfast on their way in, and still made it on time.  While they were in school, (they only go for 2 hours and 15 minutes), I mowed my lawn, fertilized it, and did a bit of weeding and fertilized the flower beds.  Then I made a picnic lunch, picked the kids up from school,  and took them to the park where we enjoyed lunch and some playtime.
By the time I got back home at 12:15,  I felt like I'd had a full day.  The only thing I really have left to do for the day is a raindance. Naturally, the only time it hasn't rained lately is when I really need it to.  I know if I go out and use the hose to water down the freshly fertilized lawn and garden it will pour later.

So, all I have do to now is keep the kids inside, off the lawn until tomorrow.  Jacob just woke up from his nap, and is full of energy.  My only challenge is to keep both of them from climbing the walls until their dad gets here.  That may be my most difficult task of the day.
